Robot Producing Food and Oxygen

The idea to stay on Mars is a dream of the future of mankind. From day to day, humans continue to develop technology that can get close to that dream. One technology that is prepared is a robot that can provide food as well oksigenbernama Robotic Garden.


Robotic Garden is the creation of several students from the University of Colorado and Colorado State University sponsored by NASA. The development of this robot is aimed to create a robot that can support the lives of astronauts in space.

Currently, Robotic Garden is still a prototype and will continue to be developed. The students were hoping, when the robot has been completed, the robot is able to produce various types of plants that can be used as food by the astronauts. With the presence of these plants, indirectly robot is also a source of oxygen for the astronauts production.

The creators of this robot also try as much as possible so that the robot can work in extreme environments such as in space. Therefore, they have developed a system which has four main functions, namely nursery, monitoring plant growth, harvesting to processing plant debris to be processed again.

Then, how much it cost for research and development of this robot? NASA parties are willing to spend the money for $ 40 thousand USD for the students. With that much money, NASA hopes that the project is completed and the robot can work as expected.
